The article is devoted to revealing the essence and principles of corporate social responsibility. The content of the concept of “corporate social responsibility” is explained in detail on the basis of generalization and systematization of scientific research. The concepts of corporate social responsibility are analyzed. Different positions of scientists who studied this subject are considered. For the structure of effective business it is necessary to analyze and evaluate the methods of social responsibility, including corporate one. The article provides an overview of the work of foreign specialists related to the issue being investigated. Particular attention is paid to the principles and essence of corporate social responsibility. After an in-depth analysis, our own visions and approaches to the essence and principles of the specified type of responsibility are offered. Scientific approaches to understanding this problem can solve significant problems that may arise in business. The findings of the article can be used by companies to achieve commercial success by ways that are based on ethical standards and respect for people, society, and the environment.
